Calm in the Chaos - A  DSLR Workshop for beginners

Calm in the Chaos is a DSLR workshop for beginners – whether they be busy mums and dads with an expensive camera that they want to know how to use, or teens who have taken a liking to photography.

Chaos and clutter can dominate day-to-day life, but there are moments of calm in the chaos, and I want to help mums, dads and teens photograph it. The 3-hour Calm in the Chaos Workshop teaches participants how to document everyday life – the smiles, laughter, tears, and everything in between.

We all know that life isn’t perfect, but our photograph can be. I teach light and scene, as we build knowledge and confidence, so you can document special moments and create photographs that you are proud to hang on your walls.

Workshops for Photographers

Over the years I’ve acquired a wealth of knowledge about newborn photography. In fact, there were key moments in my career that have changed my business, helped me find my style, and defined who I am as a photographer and business owner.

I love sharing what I have learned with brand new photographers, those just looking to finesse their skills, and those trying to find their own style. My photography is classic, organic and timeless – with the baby being the complete focus of my images. I love to focus on the details and keep things very simple.

1:1 Newborn Photography Mentoring 

I am so excited to be offering one-on-one mentoring for newborn photographers. During this full day mentoring program, you will watch me photograph a complete session, from start to finish. I will teach you everything from how I prepare my clients for their sessions to posing, lighting, editing, styling, and order delivery.

During the session I focus on prop shots, flokati shots, wrapping, 'all tucked in' beanbag shots, macro shots and parent shots, along with sibling shots if possible. I will also detail how I style my sessions, prop choice, colour selections and workflow.

I predominantly edit with ACR and Photoshop, so all editing instructions will be delivered in line with both of these programs. I am incredibly passionate about newborn safety and this will be covered in great detail.

I absolutely love this job and I am fanatical about sharing the wealth of knowledge I have acquired over my many years of shooting newborns. Basic knowledge and access to a DSLR is required to participate in my mentoring program.
